Biography
William Burr was born about 1851, the son of Alexander Burr and Isabella Gerrie. He grew up on the family farm in West Garafraxa. In 1884, he and his brother George purchased the McKee Hotel, which they later sold in 1892. William remained a bachelor for many years, later quit-claiming his interest in the family farm to George in 1903.
